About Me

I was born in Istanbul in 1975. After completing my bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, I earned a master’s degree in Information Technologies.

During my nearly 20-year corporate career, I served in senior management positions at some of Turkey’s leading companies. In January 2016, on my birthday, I gave myself a gift: I resigned from my final corporate role and founded my own photography studio under the name “Kalenderhane Photography Studio.”

While I work in the field of advertising and promotional photography, I also support photography enthusiasts through various workshops and courses, both in my own studio and as a business partner of Canon Turkey. I also give seminars on photography.

As the developer of my registered brand Fotoğraf Avı© events, I provide services to many companies. After spending 30 years immersed in photography, I consider myself fortunate to have turned my greatest passion into my profession.

What an Engineering Background Brings to Photography

When I walk into a factory, I understand how the production line works, which point matters and why, and what the technical team is trying to communicate. A degree in Mechanical Engineering and twenty years in corporate management mean the shoot is planned correctly from the start. Speaking the client’s language removes the time usually lost at the brief stage.

Those corporate years also taught me to think about where an image will end up before the shutter is pressed: an investor deck, an export catalogue, a trade fair stand. A shoot does not end when files are delivered; it ends when those files do their job.

Where I Work

My work spans industrial plant and factory photography, hotel and hospitality production, product and catalogue work, and architectural projects. To date I have worked with more than 70 organisations, among them Chanel, Hermès, Canon, Allianz, Marriott Şişli, Six Senses Kocataş Mansions, Total, Netaş, WMF, H&M, DESA and Efesan Group. Teaching and the Canon Turkey Partnership

Since 2017, as a Canon Turkey business partner, I have run training sessions, seminars, workshops and live broadcasts for Canon, both at the Canon Experience Center and in my own studio, for every level of photographer. Through my registered brand Fotoğraf Avı©, I also deliver a full-day photography experience for companies, built as both training and a team event.
